When I was pregnant with my son, a friend gave us a baby shower and requested guests bring books instead of cards (people signed the books for a personal touch).  This was a great idea that helped us stock up books for our little one.

Our son loves books.  He sits and flips the pages, looks at pictures, and enjoys someone reading to him.  We have added many more books to his library since he’s been born, and there are several books that he’s particularly drawn too that we especially enjoy reading as well.

Below is a list of books I recommend adding to a child’s bookshelf to make reading fun.

1. The Jesus Storybook Bible: Every Story Whispers His Name

2. First 100 Words

3. Are You My Mother? (Bright & Early Board Books(TM))

4. Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?

5. Little Blue Truck board book

6. The Going-To-Bed Book

7. Chicka Chicka Boom Boom (Chicka Chicka Book, A)

8. Peter Rabbit What’s That Noise? Peter Rabbit Naturally Better
